Rashi Light Pink Concord (750ml)
(2)Delivery across New York City: $5 in Crown Heights, $10 in Brooklyn, $20 in the rest of NYC. Free pickup at 511 Empire Blvd.
Rashi's Light Pink Concord is made from New York State concord grapes and named for Rabbi Shlomo Yitzchaki, whose commentary sits on nearly every Jewish bookshelf. It is a sweet, low-alcohol pink built for a table where everyone gets a cup.
Mood: Sweet, light, familiar.
Sommelier's note
"The kiddush cup wine that the children will ask for and the adults will quietly finish."
Tasting notes
Fresh concord grape jumps out of the glass - that unmistakable jammy, foxy perfume. The palate is sweet and soft, light in body and low in alcohol, more grape juice than grip. It finishes clean and sweet with no tannin to speak of.
Pairing
A kiddush and havdalah staple, and the easy choice for a seder table or a crowd that does not drink dry wine. Serve it cold with honey cake, fruit or kugel.
