From the boutique winery of Pierre Miodownick in Israel's Lower Galilee, Netofa Latour Red is a blend of Syrah and Mourvèdre, drawn from the finest parcels around Mount Tavor. It is an Israeli red in the Rhône style, with old-world composure.

Mood: Rhône, boutique, savory.

Sommelier's note

"An Israeli red inspired by the Rhône, in the Miodownick style. Black pepper, black plum, cured herb, and a finish that is savory. This is the dinner-party bottle for insiders."

Tasting notes

It is deep ruby, with aromas of blackberry, black plum, Mediterranean herb, and cracked pepper. On the palate it is dry and medium-full, showing cured olive, black cherry, a light gaminess, and tannin that is firm but polished. The finish is savory, peppery, and long.

Food pairing

Serve it with herbed roast, grilled lamb, brisket with rosemary, hard aged cheeses, or mushroom kugel. This is a serious red for the Shabbos main course, for a table that knows Rhône wines.
