Jezreel Valley Nahalal is a dry red blend from the Jezreel Valley in Israel. It takes its name from one of the country's first moshavot, and it is mevushal for the everyday Shabbos table.
Mood: Dry. Ripe. Historic.
Our sommelier says
The name comes from Nahalal, the first Jewish agricultural moshav in the Jezreel Valley. The story is on the label, and the wine is very good value.
Tasting notes
The nose has ripe red cherry and plum with a whisper of Mediterranean scrub. On the medium-bodied palate there is juicy dark fruit and soft tannin. A smooth finish follows, with a lift of spice.
Food pairing
Grilled chicken, brisket, meatballs, or a cholent at Shabbos lunch are all natural matches. It plays well with hard cheeses too.
