Hagafen Lake County White Riesling
Owned and operated by Irit and Ernie Weir, the winery was founded in 1979, and the first commercially released vintage was harvested in 1980. In the ensuing years, we have grown from a small partnership producing wine with grapes from Winery Lake Vineyard - then owned by Rene DiRosa - to a well-established wine company whose wines are distributed throughout North America and overseas.
Lake County White Riesling is super light beige looking in color, maybe a little straw looking, but clear and clean. The aroma is from nice tropical smells like pineapple, citrus, lime and apple peel and maybe some flint and minerals. The wine has a very new world smell with good aromas. The taste is very light bodied with a fair amounts of sweetness, not overpowering, but definitely a present sweetness. The acid comes on soft in the mid palate and stays soft the whole time through to the finish. The finish is light with more pineapple and citrus flavors.
