Hacienda De Chihuahua Sotol Plata
High up on the mountain slopes of the Chihuahuan desert grows a small plant called Sotol aka Agavacea. While it resembles agave, they are otherwise unrelated. Hacienda de Chihuahua was one of the early Sotol entries in the American market. French-trained distiller José Daumas Gil de Partearroyo (aka “Pepe”) utilizes modern equipment and techniques to create an updated expression of this classic spirit.
A white sotol, made in Mexico from Desert Spoon in a similar manner to tequila, produced by Hacienda de Chihuahua in the north of the country. It's a clean tasting and crisp example of this rarely exported spirit.
