Delivery across New York City: $5 in Crown Heights, $10 in Brooklyn, $20 in the rest of NYC. Free pickup at 511 Empire Blvd.
Only 18 estates in the appellation hold the Cru Classé classification, and Chateau Roubine is among them with this Cru Classé Provence pink. The grapes are harvested at night for temperature control, then gently pressed for pale color. It is Provençal rosé at its most serious, and it is mevushal.
Mood: Cru Classé Provence, dry, prestige.
Sommelier's note
"A mevushal rosé from a Provençal Cru Classé. It shows pale salmon, white peach and a whisper of garrigue. Open it on a summer Shabbos when the rosé has to be both top-shelf and mevushal."
Tasting notes
The color is pale salmon, with aromas of white peach, wild strawberry, pink grapefruit, and a hint of Provençal garrigue. On the palate it is dry and medium-bodied, showing red berry fruit, citrus lift, and a mineral spine. It finishes clean, refreshing, and gently herbal.
Food pairing
Serve it with grilled salmon, herbed chicken, mezze plates, Provençal ratatouille, or mild soft cheeses (dairy course), or at a summer Shabbos day kiddush. This is a prestige rosé for a fancier table.
