Alexander The Great Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
The boutique bottling of Alexander represent owner/winemaker Yoram Shalom's tireless drive for perfection and his desire to create world-class wines that reflect Israel's terroir. Sourced from ultra-premium vineyards in Galilee, Alexander The Great is considered one of Israel's finest examples of the world's most outstanding red wine varietal - scoring 90 points both in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and the International Wine Review. With a brilliant deep purple color and prominent aromas of ripe plum, mocha and vanilla, this is reminiscent of an ultra-premium California Cab but has an earthy depth that could only come from an Israeli wine. The flavors include blackberry, cassis, and black pepper, with a lush texture and mouthwatering tannins carrying through the long finish. Pair with a grilled NY strip steak, crown roast of lamb or fine hard cheeses.
